classy chicks wear capes.

class: [klas, klahs]  adjective:

a person who is poised, graceful, mature, or exudes any of these qualities in dress, mannerism, language, and everyday life. Possesses excellent self-control, is gentle, soothing, and unoffensive.

I love classy people. Love. I love classy things, clothes, makeup and everything else. Confession: the best compliment I've ever gotten was from a stranger, telling me I was a classy teenager when I was shopping with mama. It was grand.

But I think that the class award today goes to Miss Kayla Baird.

She wore a CAPE to school yesterday. Her sophomore poster has a BRA on it. I know. It's hilarious. And I know these don't sound classy to you, but if you know Kayla, she radiates class in everything she does. It's just how she is. I'm extremely jealous.

I love the idea of classy so much that I have a pinterest board dedicated to it. Really. I love it. I love classy vintage-y things and people and attitudes and everything.

What defines a classy person? well...

A classy person is put together, has an extensive vocabulary, can laugh at themselves, doesn't get offended easily, listens to others and is just a fun person that is CLASSY.

these are examples of classy pictures (from my pinterest board mentioned above)

Class.... get some.

classic

this is why i adore my red hair:)

and to top it off... Miss Kayla. Classy, right? Yeeauuh.

communication

Today, me and my mom were home by ourselves, just hanging out in the living room. We were both on our laptops, sitting across from each other. She was on Pinterest, and I was entertaining myself looking at memes. She said:

"Emmie, come look at this cute pin."

Me: "No. I can't get up."

Her: "Fine. I'll pin it, and you log onto Pinterest."

Me: "But that requires me to type."

Her: "Hopeless."

and just a reminder for us all....

Haha

50 things to give up today: day one

So.. because I'm still being a slacker and not studying for my map quiz tomorrow, I was just cruising around on my Pinterest boards, admiring them, when all of a sudden I hit an this article. I skimmed it and realized that I don't give up on a lot of these things. Read it. It's really good.

And then I had an inspiration. Remember my 30 day blog challenge? This is going to be a fifty day LIFE challenge. Every day, I'm going to try to give up on the thing listed in the article. And this is starting today!

Today's goal is give up trying to be perfect. I am a perfectionist. I take forever on things. It's a blessing and a curse. But today, for the next 24 hours, I will do my best and think nothing of it. And to make this challenge a little more difficult, I have to have a picture for every day. I'll post my picture tomorrow, because it's almost six.

I'm not going to blog for fifty days in a row. But I will read the article every day and post about every challenge. Don't worry, I'll blog about other things too:) But I think this is a really good way to keep up with this blog.

THE END

life as I know it

I changed the name! I got really bored of the other one, so ta-da! I'm working on a header, but because I'm so computer retarded I'm having problems. Help?

Anyway. Today, in Utah, it was almost 80 degrees. Bliss. I skated around on my ribstick for a while and put on my new sunnies. My face is pink, but who cares! I love this weather. Love it with all my heart and soul.

So, this week has been awful so far. School's been sad, hard and frustrating. AND IT'S ONLY TUESDAY. Elections are this week, so I'm sad that my time as SBO pres is almost over, scared for the kids running and staying after school until four to grade portfolios! Luckily, me and Jessie brought bags of popcorn to student gov today and we all ate our hearts out. I licked the butter out of our bag. I'm totally getting diabetes, but the butter soothed my mood. And: MAMA YOUNG HAS RETURNED! After she had her baby and spent second term on maternity leave, we were all ready for her. Our sub was sick of us and we were sick of her. I love Ma Young. She's my school mama. We sing, and she calls us "CHILDREN!" and we laugh and she laughs with us. I love her. I love my altos too. We're all buddies and we do weird things (like today, me and Millie tried to do pushups like we were T-Rexes. Didn't work out so well). I've decided homework is overrated and just spent my time outside. If I could tan, I would be black right now. But sadly, I'm just pink.

Also, officer elections means that school is almost out. I, Emmie, am almost finished with Jr. High. You have no idea how excited this makes me. I love being an officer, and I love (most of) the kids in my grade and a few that I know in other grades. But besides that, I hate Jr. High. I hate the classes, I hate the dramatic kids, I hate the smell of the school, I hate the learning, I hate it. I'm ready for high school. So ready. So. Ready.

Also also also, English update: my least favorite class (but not by far, math comes in a close second). I'm sick of the stupid homework, poetic terms and crap. Sick of it.

And now, because I'm procrastinating homework, I shall list my classes from my least favorite, to favorite.

8. English. Stupid. Stupid. Hate everything. I read HP the whole class.

7. Math. Easy subject. But Kylee is the only person I know in my class. I seriously don't know all their names. And some of the kids in that class scare the crap outta me.

6. Seminary. I wish I had a better teacher so I would appreciate it more, but I'm so sick of it. At least I sit in the back row so no one bothers me.

5. Biology. Boring class, fun kids, fun teacher. But I can't pay attention to the subject if my life depended on it.

4. Geography. Love Anderson, Love the subject, only Kate in the class though.

3. Choir. Fun class, sick of some kids, sick of some songs.

2. Ceramics. Clay. nuff said.

1. Student gov.

kay i'm done now.

Stop it.

There are few times when I am dead serious. This is one of those times.

For all of you Mormon's out there that listened to conference, and all of you who didn't, who aren't mormon, or for whatever reasons, I have a lesson to share with you.

Don't worry. I'm not going to preach to you. It's not a church lesson, I'm not forcing any religion down your throat. It's just a life lesson that everyone needs to learn. Religious or not, regardless of skin color, weight, height,  looks, talents, or even sexuality.

My "lesson" is about judging others.

From the words of President Ukdorf's talk:

All of us judge each other. All of us. Today, I judged a kid at a wedding reception because his ears were too big. It's a part of human nature. But that's not an excuse.

Mean words and judgments and and actions HURT. They cause depression, disease and even death.

So despite your race, weight, looks, opinions, sexuality, political party, gender, whatever it may be, STOP IT.

or this world is gonna suck.

so... this spring break has been. eventful. not all good, not all awful. but there was a mix of both. I haven't gone out of town. Just chilled at home with Kailee and sometimes Stockton. Watched a lot of TV and spent time on the internet. Going skiing tomorrow! I really do suck at skiing. But I have awesome cousins that will hang out with me on blue squares while I go four miles an hour. #bestfamilyever
